Job Description

As an Insurance Follow-Up Representative – Physician, you’ll manage claim follow-ups, resolve denials, and secure timely reimbursements. Your work ensures physicians are paid accurately while helping improve processes, reduce delays, and support sustainable healthcare operations.

Employment type: Indefinite term type contract
Shift: Day Shift, Monday–Friday (8:00 AM–5:00 PM EST)
Work setup: Onsite – Calle 97A, Bogotá, Colombia

The Qualifications We Seek

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail

Your Daily Tasks
Denial Resolution and Appeals

  • Perform follow-ups on outstanding insurance and patient balances via payer portals, calls, and correspondence
  • Analyze denials to identify trends and root causes and recommend process improvements
  • Monitor worklists or aging reports to ensure timely follow-ups
  • Investigate unpaid or denied claims to secure reimbursement
  • Review EOBs/ERAs to determine next steps
  • Initiate reconsiderations and resubmissions as needed
  • Submit appeals and corrected claims with complete documentation

Follow-Up and Review

  • Communicate with payers to resolve issues related to medical necessity, authorization, bundling, and eligibility
  • Contact patients to verify or obtain insurance information

Underpayment Review

  • Identify underpaid claims based on contract expectations
  • Research and dispute underpayments, coordinating with contract management when needed

Process and Workflow

  • Document all actions accurately in workflow systems
  • Use internal tools such as crosswalks, tip sheets, and team chats
  • Escalate unresolved issues appropriately
  • Meet productivity and quality standards
  • Support onboarding of new team members
  • Work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment

Collaboration and Strategy

  • Work with coding, patient access, billing, and compliance teams to resolve denial root causes
  • Ensure adherence to CMS, Medicaid, and commercial payer guidelines
  • Support team goals and client success
  • Recommend process improvements based on payer behavior and denial trends
